You can use SmartBookmarks without a Nexamas account. If you enable Cloud Vault, the extension encrypts the library before upload. Nexamas stores the encrypted Vault object, Vault metadata and a wrapped Vault data key—not your bookmark/session library as plaintext Cloud Vault data.
They are optional identity providers, not SmartBookmarks storage providers.
Cloud Vault snapshots use AES-256-GCM inside the extension before they are sent to Nexamas.
The wrapped-key model is managed by Nexamas and is not a zero-knowledge design.

Do I need an account to use SmartBookmarks?
No. Bookmarks, folders, tags, notes, saved sessions, search and local library tools work without a Nexamas account. An account is needed only for optional account features and encrypted Cloud Vault synchronization.
What happens when I save a browser session?
SmartBookmarks stores the session in your library so you can reopen it later. Session Intelligence can compare a new session with a saved one and show new, missing and matching tabs before you decide what to keep.
What does Nexamas store if I turn on Cloud Vault?
Nexamas stores the encrypted Vault object, revision/digest/size metadata and a wrapped Vault data key. The current key model is Nexamas-managed and is not a zero-knowledge design.
Does uninstalling the extension delete my Nexamas account or Cloud Vault?
No. Browser-local data, Nexamas account data and Cloud Vault data are separate layers. For permanent identity deletion, visit the official Nexamas Account website when central deletion is available. SmartBookmarks Reset all data only clears product data and does not delete your Nexamas account.
